You can delete your SyncTime account at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
- Open the SyncTime app and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom to the Danger Zone section.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
This is the fastest route. Deletion runs server-side: your profile, login, rewards balance, and loyalty history are removed immediately, and past appointments are anonymised in the clinical record your Clinic keeps (see What we have to keep, and why, below).
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't sign in, or you'd prefer not to use the app, email privacy@synctime.co.uk with the subject line "Delete my account", and include:
- The email address or phone number you used to register.
- The name of the Clinic or business you booked with (if you remember it).
We'll confirm receipt within 2 working days and complete deletion within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before proceeding, to protect your account from unauthorised deletion requests.
What gets deleted
- Your name, email, phone number, profile photo, and date of birth.
- Your saved preferences, notification settings, and loyalty balance.
- Your sign-in credentials.
- Marketing consent records.
What we have to keep, and why
Some records must be retained for legal and tax reasons even after your account is closed. These are kept in restricted, audit-only systems — not visible in any app or dashboard.
- Appointment and treatment history held by your Clinic is governed by their own retention policy (typically 6–8 years under UK healthcare and consumer law). Contact your Clinic directly to request deletion of those records.
- Payment and refund records are retained for 6 years to meet HMRC requirements. These contain a transaction reference and amount only — not your card number.
- Fraud-prevention logs may be retained for up to 12 months where we have a legitimate interest in preventing repeat abuse.
Timeline
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Immediately | Account closed. You can no longer sign in. |
| Within 30 days | Personal data removed from active systems. |
| Within 90 days | Personal data removed from encrypted backups. |
| Indefinitely (limited records) | Retained tax, payment, and clinical records only — as described above. |
